Public Liability Insurance

Public Liability Insurance covers awards of damages made to a member of the public for damage to their property which was caused by you or your business. Therefore if you have members of the public or customers coming into your premises you should very much consider taking out Public Liability Insurance.

Premiums will vary and will depend upon the type of business you run, the number of employees you have and your turnover.

If you are a sole trader or you work from home and customers visit you there you should also strongly consider taking out public Liability Insurance.

Some business, especially those that carry inherent risks - such as riding schools are requied by law to have Public Liability Insurance, othertimes your contractors or your sub contractors may require it before they will do business with you.

Like with all Insurances, you would be well advised to discuss with a broker the conditions, exceptions, exclusions or warranties that apply to any given policy.
