Napoleon Weaver

The Napoleon Weaver

The Napoleon Weaver is one of the most beautiful of the West African Weavers.

During the c.19th century it was imported into Europe in vast quantities for bird fanciers to keep in cages and aviaries.

Its easy to see why from the picture, the Napoleon Weaver keeps his decorative plumage for around 9 months of hte year and during this time he is quite aggressive whilst at other times quite placid.
