The Australian Fire Tailed Finch
This species is an inhabitant of Northern Australia. Its general colours are crimson, brightest on the upper tail covets. The Female Australian Fire Tailed Finch is paler than the male and is greyer on the back, with a greyish brown throat and chest.
This species is an inhabitant of the moist grassy meadows, it is generally found feeding among grass and when disturbed takes to the trees.
